1. We Deliver: Book your days via the app. A clean, fueled hybrid is delivered right to your door.

2. You Drive: Insurance is fully covered. Go where you need to go. If you don’t use all your days this month, they roll over 1 month. Midweek included, drive any Saturday, Sunday, or holiday for an extra $19/day.

3. We Park It: When you’re done, just park it. We pick it up and handle the cleaning, maintenance, and storage. Don’t pay for an expensive city parking garage space on a car you hardly drive.

What is the start fee? We charge a one-time $199 fee to cover the cost of registering and delivering new vehicles to our fleet. If you’re not satisfied within 30 days, we’ll refund it.

How do days work? Each “day” is up to 24 hours — even if it spans two calendar days. Unused days roll over for one month.

What is included in my plan? Everything except gas and tolls, which are billed at cost. Your car comes clean, maintained, and stored between uses. Plans include mileage-based insurance, roadside assistance, and support via email, phone, or SMS. Weekends and holidays are $19/day or upgrade your plan to drive any day as part of your plan.

I drive less than once per week. Is this for me? If you only need a car a few times a year, rentals are better. Upshift is designed for people who need a car for their weekly routine like regular commuting, hiking, surfing, golfing, or getting your dog to the beach. Upshift is designed for members who drive around 1-3 times per week and want a dependable car solution without owning one. If you only need a car once every few months, or primarily for long, high-mileage weekend road trips, occasional rentals may be a better fit.

How does delivery work? We’ll park the car in a legal spot within 2 blocks of your address. Just unlock it with the app and drive. No one to meet. No paperwork. No keys needed. When you’re done, park anywhere legal for at least 2 hours in our San Francisco zone.

What happens if a car is not available when I need one? Book 24+ hours ahead and we guarantee a car. If we ever fall short, we’ll reimburse up to $100/day for rental, carshare, or rideshare (plus insurance) in exchange for 1 day and 60 miles of credit.
